exploreIQ

exploreIQ is our European Exploration Intelligence Platform: a data pipeline that turns publicly available geoscience data into a single, comparable measure of exploration potential. It draws on the open data services of the national geological surveys — NGU, SGU, GTK, BGR, BRGM, BGS — on national mining-rights registers, and on ESA Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite imagery.

Heterogeneous sources (JSON, GML, WFS, GeoTIFF) are normalised into one spatial model. A multilingual keyword engine reads digitised historical exploration reports — tens of thousands of documents, OCR where needed — and georeferences the mineralisation evidence it finds. All layers are then joined onto a 1 km² analysis grid.

On that grid the platform computes the Exploration Opportunity Score (EOS), a weighted 0–100 rating combining geochemical anomalies, historical mining evidence, structural geology, Sentinel-2 spectral signatures (iron oxide and hydroxyl alteration), claim density and competitor proximity, and regulatory constraints such as protected-area buffers.
The result is delivered as an interactive map with layered geology, mineral occurrences, active claim polygons, the EOS heat map and infrastructure — alongside detailed claim information: holder, registration and expiry dates, permitted commodities, area and status.
